The powers-that-be at work have decided that the best way to run the department as of next financial year is to combine the three admin/finance teams into one big team, but split the three budgets up into four.

Cool huh? That's local government for you...

Anyway, the word for this budget-splitting process - and I don't know if this is official accounting terminology - is disaggregation.

Not, as you may mistakenly think on hearing the word for the first time, desegregation, which, ironically, means the exact opposite.

In any case, I'm not exactly forecasting a resounding success.
